Overview
This department is crucial to creating and maintaining a comfortable, safe and clean environment throughout our upscale, 124 bed long-term care and skilled nursing facility located on a beautiful campus in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Experience/knowledge of sewing required. Eligible candidate must be able to perform the tasks of sewing, mending, ironing, and occasional alterations of clothing.
Hours:
20 hours per week
Monday/Tuesday - 8am-1pm
Thursday/Friday - 11am-4pm
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., of up to fifty (50) pounds throughout the work day.
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents and personnel.
- Must possess and maintain a customer service-oriented attitude with personnel, residents, family members, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be flexible in receiving work duties during work hours
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all mending, sewing, and ironing of residents’ clothing, linen, etc.
- Do alterations as needed.
- Make name labels and attach them to each residents’ clothing and personal articles as requested.
- Deliver clothing and articles to resident’s room once name tags have been applied.
- Receive stock and issue all linens as required.
- Make sure residents’ clothing is put on clothing carts.
- Perform shopping duties as needed.
- Assist in laundry as needed.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
