Seamstress Job Opening ManchesterHanover Hill Health Care Center is currently seeking a Part-Time Seamstress to join our Environmental Services team.

This department is crucial to creating and maintaining a comfortable, safe and clean environment throughout our upscale, 124 bed long-term care and skilled nursing facility located on a beautiful campus in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Experience/knowledge of sewing required. Eligible candidate must be able to perform the tasks of sewing, mending, ironing, and occasional alterations of clothing.

Hours:

20 hours per week

Monday/Tuesday - 8am-1pm

Thursday/Friday - 11am-4pm

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., of up to fifty (50) pounds throughout the work day.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents and personnel.
  • Must possess and maintain a customer service-oriented attitude with personnel, residents, family members, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible in receiving work duties during work hours

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all mending, sewing, and ironing of residents’ clothing, linen, etc.
  • Do alterations as needed.
  • Make name labels and attach them to each residents’ clothing and personal articles as requested.
  • Deliver clothing and articles to resident’s room once name tags have been applied.
  • Receive stock and issue all linens as required.
  • Make sure residents’ clothing is put on clothing carts.
  • Perform shopping duties as needed.
  • Assist in laundry as needed.
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
